This is post i had previously posted in another forum. These settings work with my 8300 and memory card ...

You can go to
http://www.erightsoft.com »
and then freeware and download Super ... it converts any files into *.3g2 for use on the phone (disregard that it says Sony Ericsson, it still works)... the settings i used were

Video:
176x144
15 fps
144 kbps bitrate
Check Hi-Quality

Audio:
22500 kHz
2 channels
64 Kbps bitrate
Default

Its a great, free program that actually converts ... if the quality of the original video file is high quality the output will reflect that even though its compressed. Then just drag it to the My_Flix folder on your memory card. Use this post if you have any questions with it.

Have you formatted the card with the phone to create those folders, and are you using a card reader or USB cable?

It's fine, I got it from there, but the link is busted now and it sends you back to the main page. Try this one, the download links are at the bottom: http://www.erightsoft.net/S6Kg1.html

OK so I downloaded SUPER and tried this out with one of the DVDs I have and it shrunk it down to 65kb file on the card but it only plays a 10 sec clip. What is going on with this? Obviously I am doing something wrong here. Maybe step by step directions if possible would help. Please help.

after having used insane1220's example to convert my files,

they would show up in my 8300 but would not play. the timer would read 0:00/0:00.

i put my sd card into a chocolate (8500) and it worked just fine. when i put it back into my 8300 they began working. ??? not sure why but seemed to fix my problem.

anyways, hope this helps somebody else.

oops! seems like it just takes about 5-10 seconds for the video clip to start playing.

i guess the 8500 had nothing to do with it.

Was able to get movies on the 8300 by using the fantastic user guide off of Howard forums written by sc173. It is called

However, in short, put your movie on your desktop, put your microSD card in your computer (it should already be formatted and have a my flix folder). Start up Super G, right click on the box toward the bottom where files go - when you right click you need to set the output folder to go to your my flix folder on your microSD card. Now set the settings for superG as sc173 says to do in the users guide. Right click in bottom box go up to add media file and browse for your movie and select it. Then hit the encode button. It should convert the mo...
