Guys

Went to Radio Shack today and saw the new Plantronics 330A.. This replaces the 320 which was decent.

This mostly pertains to the 8300 people and 8100 people.

I am a huge 8300 fan but tested more than 50 headsets and they all stink with the 8300.

This seems like it's a real winner. I only have it for 1 hour so give me a little time but so far it's awesome.. No echo to the other caller and the call quality is off the charts good..

How about you cant raise the volume above about 50% , it's so powerful.. Which is great for loud envirements..

Well guys, I thilnk this might be the one !!!

More to come later tonight !

Yes....are you STILL loving It????

I am a huge LG fan and I wish they would start making headsets specifically for their awesome phones.

I am thinking about finally getting a bluetooth phone (8300). Had a Scala500 (with BT adapter) and that headset was suposed to be LOUD and it was worthless for me.

Frankly, I can't see a bt headset working all tat well unless it is the type that actually fits down into your ear.

thanks for your review though. Hopefully you are still satisfied.

Did a web search for the 330a & it seems its exclusive to RS. Even the plantronics site didn't have it. They did have th the 330(without the a) as did alot of other sites. Is there a difference or is this a marketing gimic?

I can't say if this is the case with this particular headset, but quite often the national chain stores get their own model numbers on different items. A good example is Best Buy; they offer to match or beat any advertised price on big-screen tv's, or something like that. Well, you find a Sharp 50" model xr2900 at K-Mart for $200 less than Best Buy. Best Buy says "oh no, that's not the same thing; ours is a model xr2901, or xr2900b", or whatever.

This may not be anywhere near correct in this instance, but it does happen quite frequently, so it could be the same model, just a different number.

Just purchased the Explorer 330 for $35.00 on E-Bay. I also had the phone's software updated a few weeks ago to the most current version. I'm happy to report that the headset is terrific!
Very clear on both ends of the conversation - no echo's or any other type of distortion whatsoever. Feel comfortable to purchase this Plantronics model and enjoy your 8300 even more.

I both recently Motorola HS850 at costco for 39.95 - works just fine! btw.. vx8300 has older bluetooth technology format 1, not 2 - that does not support 'hoping' technology, that is searching for best frequency available... from what I read vx8600 has that..so you know.
