The same thing happened to my 8300 and there was no way I could get that "car kit" off the phone, so I chucked it and got the Casio G'zOne with military specs; you can get it as wet as you want, drop it, and anything else. I don't want to have to baby my phone anymore.

Try to clean the port on the bottom of the phone with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush. Mineral deposits from when you got it wet are completing the circuit between the little silver contacts in the back of the phone. Thats why it says "car-kit" Good Luck

Thanks. It worked like a charm. I will go back to using the 8300 now. It is less than perfect, but seems like the best phone VZW has for the time being.

I did try the Casio G'zOne. It is one tough phone, but I discovered that it is too heavy and bulky to be carrying around on my belt all the time. Also, the software is too limited. It does have a great 2 megapixel camera, though.

MellowYellow P-Man...
Aren't you a bit "Less Than Perfect"?
