Problem with "homemade" ringtones

motoXrosco

Anyone else have problems when making your own ringtones and sending them to your vzxpix.com address? Out of about 6 or 7 tries, I've only gotten 1 to sound normal on the phone. The others sound like a transistor radio.

Have you looked at the Newbie helps for the 8300?

If not, go to the following link:

Too compllicated. I think what motoXrosco was trying to do was to record directly into the speaker and then send it to his phone and download it as a ringtone, which is what I have done, but it comes out sounding like a transistor radio. I finally gave up on the 8300 and got a Casio G'zOne. Great phone, a real man's phone.

I was just cropping out a portion of an mp3 to use as a ringtone, then emailing it as an mp3 to my phone. I wasn't recording it into the speaker.. not sure what you mean by that. I've only gotten one to sound like it does on my computer once it gets to the phone. Tried all sorts of file sizes, audio quality, and lengths.

I had the same problem and for that and other reasons finally gave up on the 8300 and got the Casio G'zOne, a real man's phone. The 8300 had too many superfluous features I never used, and it was too heavy and bulky for a fragile phone. Plus, I could not stand that twisted bar in the earpiece, and there was no way I could straighten it; it just made the whole phone look poopy. Also, the RF was never up to par. I have had a Motorola V325 with strong RF, and the Casio also has good RF. If all you have ever had has been LG, you just do not know what good RF is.

Have you had any luck with the Newbie helps, motoXrosco? What's there regarding ringtones works for me. You?

And take mellow-man's comments with suspicion. Since his beloved Motorola phone gave up the ghost early last summer or so, he's had at least three phones. I think he's a grumpy, never-long-satisfied, cell phone-aholic. After each new purchase, he continues to troll through other phone pages to dispense his latest drivel and toot the horn of his latest trophy. Just watch; in a couple of months he'll return to diss the 8300, while touting the fine features of yet another phone.

His anxious addiction doesn't have to be yours. The 8300 is a very good phone with lots of great features.

Farewell.

Yeah I'm not having problems making the mp3. It appears to be something with the network or my phone. Just wondering if anybody else has had the same problem.
