Use a card reader. If you want to copy mp3's, just drag and drop to the my mp3 folder on the card.

You can drag & drop the way that you are, but te phone won't play anything that is dragged & dropped if it is protected (by license, like when you buy it from VCast Music), but if you converted the song to wma, like if you just ripped it from a cd, then you should be golden. If not, go into the programming menu, then music setting & turn on MP3 Enable, then you can just drag and drop into your My MP3 folder. (The folder name & the actual menu option may vary, as I'm still using my 8100 until I can upgrade on July 6)

Hope this helps!

I think that covers all of the steps if I remember cor...

All Good Stuff! I formatted my card, put it into my computers built in card reader and dragged & dropped to my hearts content and all my mp3's played great using the 8300 mp3 player[aka:My MP3's]. [IMPORTANT NOTE: The mp3 songs that I had were all free music]. Now let's talk about the wma [aka: V-Cast Player or My Music] player which is separate, but also in the 8300. I INITIALLY had problems playing "SOME" of my wma music [the copyright protected $.99 purchased music from Music Match etc wouldn't play] yet I had no problems with any of my older FREE pirated wma music... (like a fool, I grew up [or had kids to set an example for] and actually payed .99 for my recent music which is all wma). I got the Music Essentials kit online (on sale f...
