Just so everyone knows, the Samsung D347 is the replacement for the d357. It keeps the same color scene, but it adds a slicker design. The D407 adds a vga camera and is charcoal and black.

Holy crap, the D357 is being replaced already? I've got a cow-orker who has one & it's a pretty nice phone. Why's it being replaced?

because of the side volume button and camera... that's it... and............................. just to throw my 2 cents in... why is Cingular allowing ANOTHER hot phone to be released with an STN screen.... the LG ptt that just released had and STN screen. I will NEVER own a phone that has that poor of a screen on it...... It doesn't make any sense... why cut cost on screen instead of memory or something. The main damn thing people look at on a phone is the screen. They are going to charge premium price for this phone when clearly it doesn't deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Well often times screen quality is sacrificed for the sake of battery life, and for LG phones that is a must. If you ever owned a c1300 or L1400, you know what I'm talking about. Personally I'd rather have my phone last me 4 days over seeing "all the pretty colors", but that's just me.

Why would the screen be a major selling point anyway. For me is is quality of call. Just shows uneducated consumers will buy anything if it is pretty.
