Blue & Green Light Flashes

Hello everyone! I don't own this phone...in fact I'm not even a Cingular subscriber. But, I'm really intrigued with this phone...almost enough to entertain leaving my current carrier to get it! I was reading a review where an owner of this phone commented that the blue and green flashes from this phone were so bright, he has to put the phone away in his nightstand to keep from being distracted by it at night. So, my question is: what are the blue & green light flashes for? Does it do this when charging? Or, is that the phones response when a message/email/call comes in? Or....?
Just curious...thanx in advance for enlightening me! 😎

The green light is small and just indicates that the phone is on-status light. I like it bright so I know the phone is on. It blinks about every 5 seconds. The blue light is only when bluetooth is on. I love these lights. They are very small too. Everyone likes something different. 😉

Initially there is no setting to turn the flashing green light off. But... there are options.

1. Install a third party program to accomplish this:

2. There is a registry hack to accomplish this. I only recommend doing this if you're very comfortable with it and don't mind running the risk of bricking your phone. Information on that can be found in the same forums.

Or you can just lay the phone down upside down so the LEDs face the tabletop. Or you can put a hankerchief or washcloth over the phone.

Been there and done that and got the angry look from my wife when she couldn't find the phone.
Some days its not bad. Others, it's like an airport beacon!!!
