I don't think so. I hope not. I just got a pair of Logitech Bluetoothies off of w00t, so if they don't work, I guess it is a good bet that it was indeed disabled. I don't believe it was though, from the little I was able to gather. I'll report back as soon as I know something.

Ok, just got my Logitech headset. This confirms for sure: the phone is A2DP compliant. 🙂

I am currently listening to Dave Brubeck, streaming via Bluetooth from the phone to my headset in nice stereo quality. 🙂 I *highly* recommend this setup. Watch http://www.woot.com for the next time this headset is on sale. $25 to your door. Sound quality is really, really nice. Much better than the earbuds that were supplied.

This headset is meant to work with an iPod. The setup was a bit tricky for me to figure out, but luckily for all of you, this won't be a problem, as I did a write-up on Logitech's forums on just how to do this (unfortunately, the headset is discontinued and they don't have any support online for it anymore, which is unfortun...

hexydes .. thanks for all you posts here!

Simple question: How does the max volume level of the Logitech headphones compare to the supplied earbuds in an A/B test?

I listen to music in a very noisy environment so this makes a big difference to me. When I tried out the Motorola HT820 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones at a local store I found them to be much 'weaker' in volume than the supplied earbuds. How does this Logitech compare?

Thanks, DaDuck

Compares: Very favorably. 🙂

To hopefully put it into perspective, I was pretty floored at the sound that came out of the earbuds. They produce a lot of sound. The bluetooth headset is louder/clearer (assuming you are within range of the phone). With the phone at max volume, and the headset at full volume, it is too loud. And I don't mean in that "speaker cracking" sort of way. The sound is very clear, it is just too loud.

For as close to an A/B comparison as possible, based on nothing more than speculative opinion, I would say that:

100% phone volume + 100% earbud volume = 100% phone volume + 60-70% headset volume.

At $25, this thing was an absolute steal. If the headband part doesn't break (which about 70% of them have, it seem...

Thanks again hexydes!! Your contributions to this forum have been invaluable to me 🙂

I think I'll pick one up from eBay .. they seem to be going for $20 - $25 plus $10 shipping for a real cost of less than $35 .. not as good a deal as you got from Woot, but close enough ;)

Yeah, still worth it at $35 I think. Just know that there is a very real chance that they will break, and at that point, you'll have to figure out if you want to try to fix them, or try to obtain a refund from Logitech.

At any rate, they sound wonderful, so I don't think you'll be disappointed. 🙂

Good luck!

Just got a 3125 and want a stereo bluetooth headset. Seems to be a ton of Logitech bluetooth stereo headsets on ebay... some for MP3 players and some for PCs (different transmitters). None seem to have model numbers mentioned. Are all these pretty much OK, or do I need to look for a specific model/models??

Thanks!!

Yeah, the one I have has some weird model number on it that doesn't make much sense....not that it matters anyway since it is discontinued and all mention of its existence has been removed from Logitech's website. 😛

I think as long as it is A2DP, Bluetooth 1.2, and stereo, it should work. Don't hold me to that, but those are the specs the phone has, so as long as the headphones align with that, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Probably. 😛

The Logitech model number you are looking for is probably 980415-0403. I think hexydes has this same model number.

I ordered 2 of them from eBay a few days ago based on hexydes's review here and I expect them to arrive in a day or two. I used "logitech bluetooth" for my eBay search since most do not include the model number. I paid less than $35 each including the shipping.

I received the Logitech 980397-0403 Bluetooth Headphones that I bought off eBay today. Following hexydes's instructions on another post here I easily got them to work.

Sound quality is OK, but they do not have the dynamic range / sound quality of the wired earbuds that came with my 3125 phone. The volume range is excellent .. they are very loud at full volume.

The downside: They are NOT stereo. These are mono single channel headphones! I used this free MP3 to confirm:

At first I thought it might be a phone or WM5 setting but I don't think it is. In fact a careful review of many online descriptions of this product reveals that no one ever claims they are stereo headphones ☚ī¸

Doh, are you sure? I thought I read somewhere that the stereo option for bluetooth on the 3125 was disabled by default, and you could use a registry change to enable stereo over bluetooth. I could be wrong, but you may want to investigate that before you send them on their merry way. 🙂

oops... I just ordered two thinking they were stereo! Hope you are correct, hexydes. Do you know where there is info on the registry change?

hexy,
i thought i remembered the same thing about a registry change on the 3125 to enable bluetooth stereo, but i was unsuccessful in 're-locating' it last night in my searches across multiple forums and google ☚ī¸
