Looks kinda neato, but the Star Trek? What an odd name.

[insert William Shatner endorsement joke here]

[insert phone somewhat resembling Leonard Nimoy here]

So I wonder if this will go to TM or Cingular? I guess no, but one never knows. . .

It would most likely go to T-Mo as we have edge and Cingular does not. 😁

Your brain does not work right. Cingular has more edge coverage than another GSM carrier in the US. Get help

Did Cingular sell them the older towers? or just space on their current network? I know that T-Mo buys a lot of voice space on Cingular's network.

I can confirm that it will definitely go to one of them. 🙂 Both Microsoft and HTC have made it very clear to me that this has been picked up by a major US carrier... I just don't know which one yet.

Sweet! We definitely need interesting looking phones like this in the North American market.

I work for Cingular and I was looking at the insurable phone list from LockLine and on the list was the Cingular "Star Trek" and the Cingular "Hermes". Hopefully this is a good sign that Cingular will get the phones fairly soon. But I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Yeah, I saw that list too, but most of the phones on that list that Cingular has not yet carried will NOT be carried by us. It looks like that list is throwing out lots of phones that customers could potentially use or that we might possible carry, but realistically never will. For example, the Nokia E62, N70, N90 & N91 are on there, there's no way Cingular will carry those phones. True, it does say "HTC(Cingular) Star Trek", and it does list the Hermes (which we almost certainly will be carrying), but that's no guarantee we will.

For any cingy folk, it's CSP res#71450 if you wanna see the list.
