Hello. I wrote a review on phonescoop about the Nokia 6126 and I love it, but when I was litening to the pre-loaded ringtones that came with the phone, the phone froze. This has only happened once. I love the phone, but if it happens again, I will have to take it back. Does anyone else here have this issue?

There is a random batch of software that freezes in different phone modes. Just take out the battery for about 30 seconds, re-insert and turn on the phone. Nokia and the phone carriers say this is the only solution. Firmware or software upgrades do not solve this issue.

I am thinking of taking the phone back and getting another Nokia 6126 or a different phone, even though I have had great luck with Nokia. I am hoping that the new one will not freeze on me this time. I have taken the battery out and turned the phone back on. The phone is fine now, but it is still having its other issues. Not only did my phone freeze, but it also made this buzzing noise when I was pressing too many buttons at once. It was also searching for a signal in a classroom where I know I get a signal.

I will see if I can go and take the phone back and exchange it. However, if the phone does not fail, the Cingular guys will not exchange it for me, or would they? If I get a new Nokia 6126, I should be fine.

I tried to do a factory reset (resetting the phone to the way it came when I first got it), taking the battery out with the phone still on, taking the battery and SIM card out and waiting several minutes. NOTHING I did fixed the problem with the external display malfunctioning. The phone I have never froze again. I just think I got a dud. I'll give this Nokia 6126 one more try. I hope I'm impressed with the second one. I cannot wait to get it. 🙂
