Okay, i went to a Cingular/Tmobile Agent today, and he happened to have the Nokia 6131 as well as the V3i there. They were both unlocked of course. Anyways, i took out the Nokia out of the box, and was fiddling with it. The push to open button is a joke. It is not worth it, and is sometimes doesn't work. Also, this phone feels like a toy phone in your hand, I couldnt believe this was the actual phone and not a dummy phone. It felt like it was going to break. I am not going to buy this phone because it feels so shoddy. If anyone is thinking about this phone, I suggest you actually hold one in your hand and see what you think of it. I personally thought it was weak and fragile. The razr on the other hand has solid build quality.

i'll take quality in the software and a smaller pricetag before i ever buy a phone tahts the "hot new thing" I have heard nothing about complaints about motorola for the past 3 years and nothing but praise for nokias...just cuz it feels like a toy doesnt mean that it is...besides wat do u plan on doing w/ the phone where ur worried its gonna break?

all im saying is that from my experience with the phone, it was flimsy. i wont buy it. u can buy it if u want. i just thought i would share my experience with those who might care to be more cautious in the future.

im not going to do anything to the phone. all im saying is that i dont want a phone that feels fragile. u never know what could happen. get off my back.

NY YANKEES WHAT!!!!! JK I feel the same as you yankee after waiting for so long for this phone its sad to hear what you actually seen. I dont know whats going on anymore I guess Its all about quantity know not quality. I guess thats why they have been having lots of problems with its sibling 6126. I bet Its made in china just like everything that comes from there cheap. You will probably find them at wallmart for free w/contract.We as americans should boycott all the garbage that comes from there!!!!! after all were helping them build their nuclear arsenal by buying their junk so in the future they could nuke us what an irony........

I love the 6131. The build quality is better than any Moto I have had, (except for the V635) and reception blows away any Moto! The push to open is great. I never use the manual open. The lcd are clear and crisp. The IU is great and I can put all the numbers for one name in one catagory.

By the way, my 6131 was made in Hungary. 🤣

I've had this phone for about 2 months now and it's one of the best phones I've ever had, and that means alot considering i get a new phone every 3 months. The screen is sick, the flip open button works fine, and reception and voice quality is awesome. So maybe you just like big bulky phones in your hand....yankees suck!!!!!

moaminlari,

Thank you for the feedback on the phone, i'm definately looking forward to acquiring one (probaly the 6131 b/c its unlocked), but i want to check it out in person, so i'm holding out kick the tires of a 6126.

have you noticed any issues w/ the screen? just curious as there is a lot of talk of it scratching easily? is it comparable to other nokia phones? or more fragile?

Thanks,

-painted dog
