So for the last time..Say I minimize the battery usage by locking the keypad etc obiously the battery life will improve but for all those who have tried this, is this phone still really worth the $ and time?? Appreciate any responses!!

The battery life is the only issue I have with this phone so far. I have had it for a week - upgraded through Cingular online. The RF is wonderful - I live in a rural area and usually it is iffy if I can get a decent signal inside my house - this phone I am able to carry on an extended conversation from my house with no problem whatsoever.

The battery seems to last about 1-2 days with normal use. I bought an extra charger and a car charger from ebay, so that I have a charger both at work and at home and on the road, so for me that pretty much solves the short battery life.

All in all, I am very pleased with the phone!

I am thinking of exchanging fo this phone would you answer a couple of questions for me? In the alert tones and tones does the tone 'cackle" appear and does "soulful" appear. I have not been able to find a working model to play with. Also can you use the voice recorder to record and set your own ringtone?

Yes it does have "cackle" - did not see "soulful" - havent messed with the voice recorder yet - had a busy week and havent had much time to do anything except set up the basics.
