Sony Ericsson W810

Am I the only person on the planet having a problem with playback volumes on downloaded mp3's? I downloaded music from iTunes because I can actually get the music to play on my phone, but its like every song has a different volume. I emailed iTunes and they say use the "sound check" feature. Well that only works when you are playing music on the computer. Basically iTunes blames my mp3 player (my w810) and Sony Ericsson blames iTunes. 🙄 So does anyone have any idea how to deal with this? I know that music I originally had CD's for is always louder than any music I have downloaded. I think I even have a song someone sent me from Limewire and it still seems like the volume is funky!
