Camera button question

Hi,

According to Sony Ericsson, the camera button on the phone takes you to the camera utility when the phone is in standby mode.

Pressing my camera button does absolutely nothing when my phone goes to slee. Maybe that's what's wrong.

I need someone to confirm that the camera button doesn't take you to the camera utility when the phone's in sleep mode.

Any advice would be greatly appreciate.

Thanks in advance.

obviously if you press it and it doesnt work, it means that the camera button doesnt work while in standyby mode...way to answer your own question lol

p.s. if the button did work in standby mode, you would have like 874329874 pictures taken inside your pants pocket

Ho ho, have you considered an alternative career as a comedian?

If you had actually read the question correctly, you will have noticed I was actually talking about sleep mode - not standby.

Your best bet would be to call SE and get them to repair it. Takes about 2~3 weeks to get it done, happened to me a while back, but its something covered by SE's warranty

btw did you hold down the shutter button for a few seconds? Usually it will show up after pressing down on it for 2 seconds.

The camera button will take you to the camera in standy-by. When in sleep mode only certain buttons will let you use the phone. The camera button is not one. The walkman button will show you the time as will the volume button on the side. The nav. keys won't get you anywhere in sleep mode, but the select button will as will the number buttons.

This is the correct answer to the question answered. To sum up:

Pressing the camera button takes you to the camera mode in standby but not in sleep.
