Is there a way to turn the Screen off while on the phone??
Im a bit confused here...i know that the screen dims and then turns off when you're not using it within 20 secs...that to me is nice so to conserve the battery...but when im on the phone (making/receiving a call) the screen stays on the whole time...is this normal?...and is there a way to turn the screen off while you're on the phone...this part makes no sense, because if the whole point is to conserve battery, then why is the screen on during the whole phone conversation?? any help would be appreciated

I am anxious for an answer to this too. I am sure the battery would last a LOT longer if the display would turn off.

if you have the d-pad set up with shortcuts (menu, calendar, etc), simply press one of the shortcut keys during your conversation. once it is in one of these screens, the phone will automatically shut down the screen after 10 or so seconds like it does when you are not talking on the phone. you will still be able to talk even though the screen is off. pressing any button will turn it right back on.
great way to save some battery life.

^^^thanks for the reply..i have been doing that...which i find a little irritating because once the call is done you have to back out of the screen to reach the main screen again...i wish it would just go back to the main screen once the call was done...i just really think this is something sony ericsson didn't think much about when designing the software for the phone...this seems very counterproductive when saving battery life seems to be an important issue with the phone...
how many hours are people getting with talktime on this phone...?
