has anyone flashed/unbranded cingular's w810 yet through wotonserver.com? I'm serriously considering it.
I just don't want a crippled version of a phone that I waited so long for...I want the real deal.

I just want to know if anyone has been successful in flashing/unbranding their phones...

I used to too. It was fine. Best to do it asap if your going to do it. It will delete all your settings. Just resend the wap/mms settings from sonyericsson.com
Will they do firmware updates with the rest of the unbranded phones or will it take more time to release firmware for cingulars versions?
Just a side note. Some of us have had issues with the latest firmware. It doesn't like aac/m4a audio files very much. Just a heads up.

howardforums.com has more info on that in the sony ericsson forum.

Quick question? How did they cripple it in your opinion besides replaces the 512 card with the 128?

1 They disabled full length mp3s being assigned as ringtones.
2 No orbit, equalizer, and other SE themes on cingys version.
3 I think (not sure) they also disabled OTA updates
4 Limited bluetooth capabilities

um...I think thats about it.

Its enough for me to want to do this, and since there is no insurance on this phone, I could care less about removing cingular's software.

The downside is (if it matters to anyone else) no media net will be presnt if you unbrand the phone. It sucks for me because I work for cingy and I usually do a demonstration of media net to customers in the store...

...I'm sure there is a way to get media nets internet settings back on the phone. I just have to do some digging. 🙄

1. Just download MP3Trim; its free and it allows you to edit your mp3 files into ringtone files and it also allows you to set where youw ant it to start instead of starting in the beginning inwhich sucks.

2. You can download over a thousand themes for your W810i; I downloaded 3 the other day and yes they are interactive and flash movement.

3. It still has the option in internet settings i think its there. I know I saw the setting that allows me to get updates liek the otehr day it was allowing me to download ringtone to I contact cingular and they had me switch to that setting and i got a couple update sent to my phone.

4. Still using the bluetooth the its fullest. Dont know whats limited about it.

Can't we download the themes from Sony Ericsson website? They are all available.

Yeah they are available, but they do not look the same on the Cingular branded phone exactly. They are mostly the same but the menu icons won't change at all. My husband was disappointed because I have the unlocked phone and he has the Cingular phone; I sent him the orbit theme and it didn't do the same effects to the icons that it did on my phone. I don't think most people would really care, but there is a difference. LOL I may have paid a little more for mine, but I don't regret it seeing the changes they made. I especially hate that they made the shortcuts button a direct on to the internet. you accidently tap it and your running your bill up. We had to put a password thing on it to keep it from getting accidently tapped.
