Yes you can tether it to your laptop or desktop via bluetooth and use it as a modem. About 4 times as fast as dialup was the speed I got. And no, you cant do the 2nd part you asked.

If you have some time can you tell me how top do that or tell me where I can find good directions to do that? when you say the second part you mean you can't hook it to a desk top only to a lap top right? Thanks so much for your reply!! 🙂

No, you can use it with a laptop too. You have to go into your bluetooth menu on your pc, select create new connection. It will detect your w810 and then you will essentially create a new dial up connection. The number you will dial is *99#, the username is ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM and the password is CINGULAR1. And yes that have to be in caps, just like I typed it.

LOL while I have your attention....hehe I did a little research on getting bluetooth on consumerreports.com, but I was wondering if you have any advice about a which bluetooth headsetis the best? I don't mind paying a little more, but I want to make sure that I get one with great sound for the price and I want to make sure all my fun stuff will work with it as well. I read somewhere it's best to get a bluetooth that is the same as your phone (ie Sony Ericsson). Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Chrissy 🙂

I'm not sure what you mean by "fun stuff". The only thing you can do with a Bluetooth headset is make a call, you can't listen to music with one. It doesn't matter about which brand you choose to go with, even if its different than your phone. I've tried 15 or so headsets and I like the Plantronics 320, 510 or 640. The 320 is the least expensive but is great for the money. You can't go wrong with either of the 3.
