I did some searching to find the best way to convert video for the w810... so enjoy

Using the SUPER program (free)
http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html »

Use these settings:
Output Container = 3gp (Sony Ericsson).
Output Video Codec = MPEG-4.
Output Audio Codec = AAC.
Video Scale= 176 x 144 (any larger will not play video, only sound)
Aspect = Fixed to 11:9 (perfect for watching full-screen)
Frame/sec = 25.
Bitrate Kbps = 192.
Options = High Quality.
Sampling Freq. = 22050.
Channels = 2.
Bitrate Kbps = 56

Enjoy

I plan to get this phone once Cingular releases it. I want to put a movie or two on my transflash card. Following your setting instructions, about how many megs will a movie running 1hr 45min take?

I have one full length movie on mine for 80 minutes and the total size was 112MB. Just know that the actual size depends on your choice of encoded settings like frame/sec for example. The higher the frame/sec the higher the file output will be.

I'm not dumb I promise haha, turns out the puter at work isn't pulling the full page up for some reason. After you said look at the bottom, I decided to bring the page up on my phone and there it was. Sorry about that 😁

Hey! I am glad you brought this back. I have a question. I think I tried this before and it seemed all crazy complicated wierd. Lemme ask this. I bought a movie from iTunes, but it is a protected mp4. Any ideas how to get that on the phone? Same as above??

Thanks! 😁

You have to get it in an unprotected mp4 to do anything with it. And when it is unprotected, you can then format it for the phone. I don't know anything about itunes videos though. I can't help with that.

Where do you get unprotected videos? You just have to buy hard copies?

I HATE this about being legal. I actually buy the crap instead of stealing it and its protected from me even using it! Just a little tyrant there.... 🙄

Thanks!

I noticed that to be able to see it in videos and to play it, it has to be 1 setting smaller on the resolution like you said. However, in the Walkman video player, you can make it go fullscreen. I think you might be able to load videos that are the full screen resolution and play them through there and still see the video. I have to experiment with that tonight.
