Fast forward/backward or bookmark mp3 files

This might be a dumb question, but I have really been puzzled how to fast forward/backward when playing mp3 files. On the nevigate key, when I press any of the four directions (, up, down), I only get to the next (or previous) songs on the playlist. How can I make the key work? Are there other ways to navigate within a single MP3 file?

Also, can you bookmark a place in the MP3 file so you can get back to the exact position next time?

Cant bookmark an MP3 but if you hold your FF/REW button down instead of just pressing it once, it will fast forward or rewind.

Thanks you! I actually just discovered why. When I access MP3s through "my stuff" folder-> memory stick, FF/REW botton does not work. However, when I access them through Walkman menu, the botton works.
