If i hear one more time "i don't need all the bells and whistles..."

No doubt about it. I work for verizon wireless. 80% of the customers simply want a phone that "makes phone calls". Finally, with the screen on the outside...this phone has all that the majority will want.

I absolutely agree. SOOO many people don't need all those other bells and whistles and with the 3400 finally adding the external caller ID, it'll sell very well.

That's why they're with Verizon!

If they want their phone to do anything else, they have to go with someone who doesn't cripple them!

Sorry, had to say it.

-Recent GSM convert (and yes, the network is actually just fine on the dark side!)

By the way, before I get flamed or start a flame war, I was just saying that a you're right, a lot of their customers do just want to make calls.

Before switching to "the dark side," my wife had the VX-3300, which I am assuming is the predecessor to this phone. It was pretty decent. Didn't get quite as good of a signal as my V710, but it was okay.

Not in my neck of the woods. T-mobile just doesn't have much coverage, and Cingular will either a) drop the call b)garble the call or c) mess up your bill.

Sry, no thanks. ☚ī¸

There are plenty of places that one or the other works and the other doesn't. There are places around here that GSM doesn't work that CDMA does and vice versa (honestly).

I would say CDMA still has a larger voice footprint (obviously not data), but that alone is not enough to make me stay. As far as I'm concerned, coverage is all they have, and that's only for now. For crying out loud, T-Mobile increased their coverage by 56% last year?! Crazy stuff is happening. You'll see GSM on par with CDMA soon. It already pretty much is here.

Not hard to do when you go from 3 square feet to 4 1/2 square feet for coverage area 😉 đŸ¤Ŗ

As long as VZW doesn't price it like the 4650.. that phone would sell if the damned thing wasnt priced so high

the 3400 should be $30 with a $30 rebate in my eyes to get the old pants pissers attention.. anyone who wants a phone that works is always a cheap ass anyways.. expecting everything for free 🙄

no....its just that us old pissers dont need all the juvenile delinquent, moronic, high school drop out extras that you all find so appealing.....games, lousy camera function, text msg....you want everything but a phone. but what else can one expect from people that have a 5th grade education and are proud of it?

Customers will bite this phone and hold on tight. This phone will sell very, very well. Why it took VZW 2 phone models to get it right I don't know but they've got it now!!

Good point. Also to add, the the 4600 that was out a couple of years ago had a front display and the same features as the 3200 except that it was all digital versus tri-mode for the 3200/3300 models. Does anyone know if this phone will be all digital or tri-mode?

I would say it would probably be all digital beings they are switching to an all digital network. Then again that is just my opinion.

Ok. Sry. I didn't mean it literally I meant it figuratively. I am aware that the "carrier" DOES NOT make the phone(s).
