A930 & Bluetooth incompatible

Just purchased an A930 a week ago and have had poor results with using Bluetooth headsets with my phone. I am hoping that Verizon can come up with a patch because I really like the phone. Samsung has not been very helpful other than to recommend buying a Samsung Bluetooth headset which Verizon does not carry.

At least 4 different new A930s were tried as well as the in-store demo-display 930 along with several different Bluetooth headsets.

All paired up, but when we (myself AND the Verizon store tech support person) tried to make a call, the automated voice came on: "Say a command" and we would say, "Call (whatever #)" and Bluetooth/Voice Dial would not "hear" our request.

All the Bluetooth headsets that were unsuccessful with th...

Hmm, weird thing...I have the same problem. Well, that's not the weird part..but...

When I first got my bluetooth, it was working fine, the phone could hear who I wanted to call. But for some reason, the past...2 wks I think...it couldn't listen to me anymore. When I manually called people, I can still use the bluetooth to talk...but I just can't use the 'Call' function. I thought it was just my headset/phone.

So in conclusion...I have the same problem, no solution...

Hey zetter44. Thank you for your response. Did you start having your Bluetooth problem after you had your 930 for about 2 weeks, or was it longer? Have you had your phone for about a month? What brand Bluetooth headset are you using? Have you contacted Verizon yet about your problem?

I can let Verizon's 611 dept know that this hasn't happened only once. I wonder how many others out there have had your experience after using the phone for a spell but think that it is just some quirky anomaly.

I've had the phone since the first week of June. The bluetooth is a Carlo Scala 500, got this about 3 weeks ago. I've only had the problem recently, and haven't had tons of chances to use it (I only use the bluetooth once in a while, to save battery power).

But no, I haven't contacted verizon about it. I might stop by a store and ask within a week, depending on my schedule. I'll let you know if there's any changes.

Keep me updated..

I've had my a930 since early July and I haven't really had any problems with my bluetooth. I have the Jabra BT500. The Earpeice went dead one time after I ran out of charge and after re-chargeing it, I never got it to turn on again. Verizon was very good about replaceing it and it's been working great ever since. I was having trouble trying to figure out how to get my BitPIM working on USB but when I purchased a Music Kit for my a930, they had a driver that has allowed me to use the USB again. Funny, the USB Driver was for an a950.

I'm having almost the exact same issue. I'm on my 3rd BT headset and about ready to pull my hair out. The first headset was a Jabra (BT350) and I'm not sure it had any problem working correctly EXCEPT that it did not fit close enough to the ear to hear. I then tried a Verizon headset (Plantronics BT320) that fix good in the ear but this one and the Motorola BT500 both have issues with the voice command feature. Both headsets have worked at times but to me no rhyme or reason when it worked or didn't.

I may have to try out a Samsung model!

The solution I found was to first make an initial call from the phone's keypad with the Bluetooth headset paired. After one initial call the voice command then worked fine after that from the Bluetooth headset. The same was true if I answered an initial incoming call from the button on the Bluetooth headset, after the phone had first been powered on.

I found it was necessary to repeat this procedure whenever the phone was powered off. It was not necessary to repeat the procedure if I just powered the Bluetooth headset off and on again. Also it was not required that the initial outgoing call be answered, just that it made after the phone was first turned on with the Blue-tooth headset paired up.

Drove me batty until I realized what was ...
