VERY CONFUSED

I've had all the BT phones Verizon has to offer and now am using the 950. I've decided since I have had it that I only want a phone with intenna from now on. I'm happy with the 950, but you know how it is with always wanting the latest and greatest!

Anyway......I'm confused because I don't know what to do. I haven't seen the 930 in person yet, but by the pics, I really like the keypad, the shape of the phone and the looks of the interior screen. The confusion I am having is the outside screen mostly. Do I really want a phone with an OLED exterior screen? I feel like I would be taking a step back, not forward. It's like the phones of yesteryear! Not so sure about the color either. Don't get me wrong, I like black, but I also lik...

Just got off the phone with my local Best Buy and they said they just got it today! Going soon to check it out, maybe that will ease some of my confusion. Either that or make it even a tougher choice!

Well, I just got home from Best Buy, and I came home without the 930 but am no longer confused.

I already knew I probably wouldn't like the outer display, which I didn't, after seeing it in person. The entire outside of the phone looks like an old pager I used to have.

The black is too blah for me! Not only is it all black, but it's not even uniform. It has shiny black and matte black.

It doesn't have nice curves like some of the other phones. It is squared off.

The keypad is nice, but that's about all I liked. It felt cheap to me and kind of "flimsy". I definately understand now why it's only classified as mid-range. To me, it is definately a step back from the 950 (probably why it's called a 930).

It just overal...

I agree the phone is kind of plain. I've looked into it a little bit, and I've pretty much decied that i'm going to pass. I'll stick with my LG VX8100. I don't like the external display, and I'm not a big fan of the black either. I saw some pictures of the 930 on infosync, and it was black with silver accents on the outside and inside. That was a tremendous improvement. Too bad they did not go with that.

I wouldn't say OLED outer display is a "step back". Viewed from nearly 170 degree angle, and it is easier on battery life by leaps and bounds.

For someone like myself who uses his phone for a clock, I am illuminating my outer display quite often, so this would help considerably w/ battery life. Plus, do we really need a color external display? The only pro I see there is picture caller ID, which is a big deal to some, but people like myself could not care less.

YAY for OLED!! 🙂

I think this phone is hot, but I hate the internal antenna...I like to use a leather case and phones w/o antennas dont lend themselves well to cases...you have to use a pouch.

Someone commented on the color...well you know what, I was sick of verizon releasing decent phones in horrible colors...the 8100, the 950, lg 7000. I am a sales rep and I constantly being judged, I can't have some ridiculous looking phone on my belt when I'm with a client. This phone looks sleek and professional...BLACK IS BACK BABY!!!

As far as the OLED, I think its different and kinda cool. I really dont use picture ID anymore, so its not a huge loss for me, however the battery life could be a nice bonus.
