How long does your A930 battery last?

👿 I'm disappointed with the battery life that I've been getting on my A930. It's about a month old and mine's will fully drain in about 48 hours on standby. Anyone faring any better with the standard battery? My A670 used to last about 5 or 6 days before needing a charge.

Generally pretty poor battery life. With moderately light use (30-45 minutes of talk time, brief 3-4 minute use of MobileWeb), I seem to lose about 2 of 4 bars in 12-14 hours.

I usually charge every night, even if not fully drained, which some have advised against.

Some technicians have advised fully draining the battery and then re-charging. I didn't think it worked that way anymore.

I'm getting about 48 hours also, light to moderate use.

Does anyone know if keeping the GPS location thing ON all the time will drain the battery?

I don't thin the GPS function for emergency location will have much affect on battery life.

The best thing you can probably do do keep the battery life up is to turn of Bluetooth.

If your phone has EV-DO on, then turn that off if you don't use it, or don't live in an EV-DO area. Only part of my area is covered by EV-DO, and my worksite is not one of them. So I turned off EV-DO since I don't use it, and it has helped my battery last a little longer. I know this is repeating information, but to turn off EV-DO, go into the Settings & Tools menu.
Press # and enter 000000 to get into the hidden menu.

Go to option 6, and it'll bring you to the options of hybrid (default)
CDMA only mode
EVDO only mode

You'll want CDMA only mode checked so EV-DO is turned off.

I hope the extended battery is available through VZW. It has yet to become available from Samsung.com.

Thanks. I actually didn't know about this one. I'll try it and see what effect it has on my battery life.

Anyone know anything about the extended battery? Weight, etc? Would it require a different backplate?

I have yet to find out about the extended battery, as far as if it's available yet, but I do know that a new back cover will be needed for the extended battery.

I think that I found the solution to the short battery life. Under Settings & Tools, Phone Settings, Location, change the choice from Location On to E911 Only. After switching my phone to E911 Only, battery life has been tremendous.

I'm on my 6th day without a recharge and the phone is still showing 2 out of 3 bars. I was disappointed with this phone at first, but now I'm thrilled with it. 😁

Yup... according to the 'manual', it recommends that the phone be turned off while charging, thereby giving it time to fully recharge instead of leaving it on all the time. At most, my phone lasts 2 to 3 days on a charge, depending how often I'm playing Solitaire on it... 😁

Mine gets me through the day; but then again, I do talk on it, as well as take pics, vids, text & listen to music on it. It's 6 months old, but still good.
