A better mp3 hack using the data cable and BitPim?

Hello, I tried Protege's mp3 hack. Now since I'm blind, I picked this phone because I could feel the buttons fairly well, and it has a bunch of voice output features for the menus and dialing. I had sighted assistance for putting in the mp3 hack, but you have to do this each time you want to play mp3s, and you can't use the media buttons on the front. Therefore, I can't do this each time, because the menus don't speak when putting in the secret codes, and then if I got it to work, I could only use the menu keys to play mp3s. I understand that the front media keys will play wma files, but I can't find a way to convert a batch of mp3s to the wma format from the right click context menu. Can anyone recommend a converter that I can right click w...

Well I don't know about a better hack for bitpin and your data cable but I can help you out with a converter. You want to use dBpowerAMP Music Converter here is the link http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm and you ill need to download the WMA codec too and here is the page for that http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-wma.h tm that will let you convert your mp3s but that is a lot of work, but it is all clicking of the mouse you'll have to use a card reader on your pc to keep it that simple.

Now if you have some help to organize your music.

If you go to this yahoo group and join and download the usb cable driver http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/a930/ and download and install windows media player 10 and only 10 and then follow the e...

Hello, I use DBPowerAmp already for my flac conversions, but when I went to that page you gave, it brought me to the same page that the program did when I tried to convert, and I've installed this module three times, and everything installs fine, but when I go back to convert, the program says that the codec isn't installed. I've said yes to uninstalling previous versions, so there shouldn't be any conflict, and DBP isn't running when this is installing. Is there some reason it's not working? This would be my preferred method of converting files, since I really like the program interface, and I can highlight several files at once.
Thanks a lot.

ok, when you right click on a MP3 file and the menu opens got to Convert to. once the converter program opens the first line has a drop down menu make sure that you select Windows media audio v9.1 second row select type CBR third row this is the codec selector select Windows media audio v9.1 the fourth row is settings and that is pretty much personal choice. what sounds best to you. is the codec showing up in the settings drop down menu?

Hello, as soon as I move over the codec for Windows Media, it comes up with a message that says the codec isn't installed, and would I like to install it. Whether I use the link you provided, or I say yes and it brings up the web page, it installs just fine, but then when running the program, it again says that the codec isn't installed.

ok for some reason the codec is not either getting installed in the correct place by the computer or something is blocking it from being installed. like a missing control .dll that is needed. i am not going to be able to look more tonight but when i get a chance tomorrow or torrow night i will see if i can find what the problem is. i dont think it is you doing anything wrong i think you may just be missing a .dll is all. i will see what i can come up wth for you it just may take me a little bit. i am getting into my busy season for my business and i have my christmas orders starting so most of the free time i do get is late at night. if that is ok with you?

Hello, whatever you can find out, and whenever, is fine. I'd just like to get it working.
