Yes it stays lit at all times, but it is only bright when a calls rings, and when you close the phone, and only lasts a few seconds. For me, I actually like the front display staying lit all the time. At least I don't have to open the phone to see who's calling or to check the time.

I agree. And it doesn't really drain the battery at all. I love being able to look at it for the time and not have to push any buttons.
