CUSTOM RINGTONES ON THE a930!!!!

I HAVE DONE IT. By scowering enough message boards and compiling enough different methods I've done it!!!
Here's what you do
(Only works for Windows users, and I used a MicroSD card as well)
- In Explorer.exe (or just open up my documents) go the TOOLS tab and choose FOLDER OPTIONS
- Then choose the VIEW TAB, and scroll down to where it says "Hide Extensions for known File Types", and make sure that this option is unchecked
- Now on your MicroSD card, (which should be formatted for this phone already) go to the MY_SOUNDS folder and place your select ring tone in this folder.
(the ringtone can be .mp3 or .wma from what I've seen; make sure it is nomore than 300kb in size, anything higher will crash your phone)
- NOW, RENAM...

and o yea I JUST got this phone today, I ordered it on Friday from Verizon's website using my newevery2 deal

Tried using this method & it didn't work. Has anyone put their own ringtones on THIS phone? I've read a lot of posts that suggest things that "SHOULD" work but I haven't ready anything from people that have had success with doing it themselves on the A930.

Betteroff found the best way to use custom mp3 ringtones using bitpim. I used it and it works well. Look at his recent post to get the details.

I also confirmed the mp3 clips as rintones in BitPim. Havent found how to insert tones through explorer though.
