Guys,

I know how excited I was about this phone, but today changed alot..

So I am working in a customers home in the basement for the last few weeks. I have my 670 with me everyday and I use the phone alot down there.

Today I was workign for most of the day and I have to tell you that I could not maintain a call with the 930.. I dropped a bunch of calls and call quality was horrid..

I then went to get some lunch and in a spot I know is a bit shaky but the 670 and 950 had no problems the 930 fuzzed out and dropped calls.

The phones reception is marginal.. Very unfortunate.

Another problem - The phone has an issue with voice quality in the earpiece. I thought it was the phone and that it was bad but we had 3 of them together...

Gunny,

Yeah , I am bummed out , I had really high hopes.

I guess now we wait for the Q next week and see how it is.

Would you carry a device that big ?

I like the 670's size..

You know what I need most is bluetooth in a small phone.. I think alot of people want this and dont care so much about Vcast nonsense.

Maybe the LG5300 is going to be just what we need ? You know I am not a big fan of LG, but with Samsung sucking right now, it's worth a shot.

Have a nice weekend , I am back on my 670 as of today and happy once again !

theater i have not had a problem with the reception on the phone, it has been honestly great, the only problem i have with it is that earpiece volume seems a little low on the streets of nyc. i will update you on the reception next weekend, i am heading out to long island where even the 670 had issues and i will let you know how the 930 handles it, and then driving up to albany where also in my bros house the 670 had problems. stayed tuned for an update next sunday.

I feel for ya. I didn't even get that far. I don't know if you read my post about how I felt about the 930 after seeing it, but I know how it is to get so excited about an upcoming phone and wait and wait for it, then finally get it only to be dissappointed. It sucks big time! I hope one of the other upcoming phones will be better for you-and me.

Hey Mary,

Yeah , It's a bummer..

I am going to the house I am working in tonight where the 930 drops calls like crazy.

I will retest the 670's ability to maintain a call an update this later!

hey guys, i am not here to argue but this phone is top notch. i have the 950 and the 930 has been out-performing it for the past week, especially in the reception department. i bought the phone knowing that i was going to sell one or the other. needless to say the 950 is on ebay as we speak.

Sorry for the bad news - The Earpiece is aweful - It's diffult to hear people if you are used to high quality like the 670 or others.

The reception is aweful - You will see lots of people complaining..

The 950 is stronger , I can assure you , my partner has his 950 with him when I tote around the 930 and I drop calls and he does not..

ALso, In fringe areas the 670 and 950 can maintain the call , the 930 drops it..

wow it's very weird to hear a review like that, the earpiece on my 930 is perfect and crystal clear! Not to mention the reception on this phone blows away that of the the razr 950 and the 8100. Th E815 might still beat this phone just barely on reception but JUST BARELY!! Also I think the design on this phone is well thought out. All in all I think this phone is a major success for verizon!!

Theatermax: being that a few people have reported how successful they believe the 930 is - wouldn't it be possible that perhaps you just got a bad phone (afterall, early batches are most likely to produce bad phones)? I did read that you had to return your first phone - being that you got your 2nd phone from the same place - it's quite possible your bad fortune just continued! We'll have to wait until this has been out for a few weeks to read reviews from different parts of the country to obtain a conclusive concesus. I am interested in this phone but will wait until sufficient phones have been tested.

No it's not just one , it's the design..

I have 3 of them total here and they are all the same..

I am not saying the earpiece is bad, it's just less clear and concise than other phone including samsung phones.

They cheaped out on the D/A conversion in the earpiece.. Thats all.

The Speaker phone button is in a very bad place and you will hit it constantly like all of us have been doing. It's just not well thought out , or as well as it should be..

It's a nice phone but has some shortcomings.

I have friends who work in VZW and they are hearing the same complaints.

I live in southern cal and just received mine today from letstalk.com to replace the razr v3, can’t get it any other way out here right now that I know of. I don’t understand the negative reviews since the one I received is perfect, no spring sound, no bad ear receiver, great reception, it all works perfect so far.

I needed a cell phone that will display incoming calls/data/info in silent mode. As a web systems administrator and db programmer the flashing red led and organic-led display that is always lit up works perfect for this, perfect stealth monitoring when neck deep in code.

The keypad, phone design, in-hand feel, and quality of this phone are very very good in my opinion. We should compare all the version numbers, it could poss...
