Nokia 6103 / 6102i

The best way to get a new phone is to turn on the charm and explain how disappointed you are with whatever is going wrong with the 6102. Explain how wonderful it will be when the 6102i is in your life. Be sure to tell them how much you know they want you to be happy with the service and the equipment. That is the AT&T angle to take. They might cough up a phone, they might not.
See if you are eligible for an upgrade. You might be able to move up for next to nothing to a new phone that does what you need it to do.
See if another carrier has the 6102i available and wrangle with them about moving over to their service. Try to use the other carrier as leverage with the AT&T folks.
If there is a genuine defect in the phone then pick up a Nokia 3390 from eBay for ten bucks including shipping. When it gets to your mailbox drop your SIM into it. Then, check your IMEI # on the Nokia web site to see if your unit is still in warranty. If it is fill out the on line form, print it, stick it in the box with your handset and send it off to be repaired. Postage, including insurance is less than $10.00. You won't get a 6102i but at least you'll get a properly working 6102.
I hope some of this is useful.
