Re: Bought mine
I like the phone on the whole... I will like it alot more when boxwave gets a flexiskin out for it. HP was on the tight track when they decided to make their new model with a build in screen cover.
Signal strength on the internal antannae is really good. I have noticed alot of companies adding a little loop at the top of their phones and still calling this an internal antennae... UGH
It is a nice size, and the previous reports I had read about being able to do almost everything without actually using the touch screen were right on.
honestly the touch screen can get a bit annoying... It's not like I have huge fingers, I really dont... but when your used to being able to feel the difference between buttons, not having that takes getting used to. I find myself actually taking our the stylus alot.
the form factor is AWSOME!!!
I am using cingular in the US and IMATE has done a great job of posting cab downloads for everything I would need. just go to the website, plug in your EIN and go to the cariers page... there is a list of almost every carier in the world, so you dont have to program anything that would be carier specefic.
I havent even come close to going through a battery in a day yet, although I am sure My pda usage is less than most.
I am completely dissapointed in the speakers. bot intrnal and external. the volume is awful and the quality could be better even at low volume.
I dont quite understand the technicalities of the 200 processor and how it compares to the other processors, but the only time I have ever noticed what I would think was a result of a slow processor was the camera.... the quality is fantastic on the camera... but the focus is rough on mooving items.
all of the buttons on the unit can be configured to do whatever you want but the default on one of the side buttons is to open the conectivity page. I dont plan on turning on and off my wi-fi, ir, active sync, bluetooth and speaker often enough to justify needing a dedicated button... it would be nice if I could configure it for push to talk though.
I have a few personal issues with the software, but thats window stuff...
I find it difficult (if possible at all) to go into a call log history, putt a number from it and add it to the contacts. also when you add a new name and # the phone defaults the # to the work #, wich is a pain since 99% of all my contacts are mobile #'s
I would be happy to answer questions if anyone wants to know something more specefic...
would I prefer one of the other Imates with a keyboard? Probably not.... will I consider the quad band palm windows when it comes out? probably. if only for the accessory list.
