Question...

The playback on this phone is great, for MP3s anyhow. WAV playback sounds distorted, likely because, well, it's WAV files we're talking about.

My question is, is there a way for me to use MP3 files as ringtones? I tried downloading the MP3s with .wav extensions, but that didnt fool the phone. If it matters, the files are on the phone itself, not on the card. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Gosh im bumping some old posts. I guess Im THAT bored.

Nextel 3digit phones will only read ringtones in MIDI or Mono-8bit-compressed WAV formats. Thats it. Some ringtones if you turn the volume down to like 2, they sound much better and are still audible. Like anything with drums or bass or loud vocals for example.
