The E1 is showing "end of life" on the b2b pricing list, so I would guess that the E2 could replace it. However, the V3i supposedly will support iTunes on Cingular, so I don't know if both the E2 AND the V3i will be on Cingular. If Cingular doesn't get it, I'd be surprized if no one picked it up.

well since the SLVR replaced the ROKR, I doubt the e2 will make an appearance at cingular...

I believe the v3i will be here..

besides the e2 isn't a "true" itunes phone, but may make an appearance somewhere using the itunes software as you can get it customized with any number of music programs.

I called motorola yesterday, and they told me they have no clue as to when the ROKR E2 will come out.

But SUMMER!!! Really? That sux!!!

I have a feeling that they told you that because their site says ''first half of 2006.'' I'm hoping phoonescoop is right by classifying it as ''first quarter of 2006.''

Cingular has the SLVR instead of the ROKR. I asked my rep and he said cingular had no plans to carry the new rokr.

I highly doubt that a rep will know what Cingular plans to do. I think this sort of thing is decided much higher up in the company and no rep will be consulted for their opinions. Thus I don't think that a rep is a reliable source.
Further, I believe the contrary that Cingular will carry this phone. The SLVR is an exact copy of the ROKR E1 in a sexier body (so to speak). While the E2 is a completely new phone. This phone will be much more advanced and will offer a much wider variety of features than the SLVR. They will be priced differently and thus marketed to different market segments. (i.e. the SLVR will be marketed to the hip and cheek, while the ROKR E2 will be aimed at a more technologically savvy crowd (so called trend setters). In o...

I hope that the ROKR E2 comes to Cingular! I have a W600i I love, but i'm on the third unit due to the White Screen Of Death and I think it might me time to try something else. In a search, the ROKR E2 seems to fit everything I want and need..I'm a pocket tech geek, and I love everything this phone seems to offer...definetely the 9 HOUR battery life! That should take the risk out of texting as much as I do! 🙂

I called cingular and they are getting the rockr by the end of june early july. i even had the rep put me on a waiting list to where they will call or email me the week before the phone hits the store so i can buy it over the phone rather than the store cuz its cheaper to buy over the phone rather than going to the store.

I have been contacting both Motorola and Cingular throughout July... Motorola signed me up on there site to leave questions and comments and get "answers" I use that very loosely!!! It's coming to Cingular but When I mentioned the first part of July release date they went in and retracted it on the rokr e2 pages (web and pdf) and left the "first quarter of '06'" That was yesterday.... I don't mean to speculate but I have a feeling the two companies are sqwabbling over price or something!!! I asked them why China's got it but we don't... no answer to that!!! lol I did find it on China E-bay for about $300US (had to convert from Chinese of course) - http://cgi.ebay.com.cn/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI tem&item=220005256091&ih=012&category=74846...
