So, it's a fatter a900?

Why did samsung come out with this redundant model? Just to showcase their round OLED and put "motion fun" into another model?

This is not going to sell well. This will be similar to the a940 in the fact that stores will probably have very limited supply. It will probably be around $349.99 before discounts, which puts it at a competitive disadvantage with it's own sister phone(s).

Maybe a few people like the styling, and for those people, it will sell. But to me as a rep, this will just fill the wall with something to look at. Most people will be attracted to the less expensive a920 which adds a transflash card, or the same priced a900 that is much slimmer and only loses the motion fun.

We haven't got it yet, but this is what it app...

I'm sorry, but this handset will be priced lower than the MM-A920 by Samsung ($299). $279 is the likely price. $349 will NOT be the final price.

Remember, this is an entry level compact EV-DO, Bluetooth handset. This is not mean't to replace the MM-A940 (???) or even the A920...

ok, so $20?
To me and most of my customers, $20 is inconsequential. I can usually adjust the price more than this if it means an activation would otherwise walk.

Duh, it's not replacing the 940. The similarity I was getting at was most likely limited availability and motion fun.

It's not a replacement for anything its a redundant phone. Another redundant phone is: the Sanyo 3100 and the 8200.

The 8200 was the one terribly buggy phone. The 3100 updates alot of the features that were on the 8200. Sprint has a policy it seems like of giving customers more than one brand to pick from in each tier level. More choices for a customer = good (keeps a person from looking at the 1 phone that meets what they want and saying "I don't like it...")

Why do you comment on things your obviously know nothing about? This phone will have a $99.99 price point after rebates. It gives most of the features of the a920 but with a $50 lower price point and unique styling. I have had customers asking about this phone for the last month and don't see any problem selling through them as fast as I can get them, which will not be limited like the 9000 or a940.

Ok, who are you? Do you work for samsung?
I didn't think so, we are SPECULATING on the price right now, when it is released we will know the price. Until then shut up.

"Selling through them as fast as you can." It will only take our store a day to sell all five that they will send us. If samsung sends us more, then fine, I can sell ice cubes to eskimoes. I'm sure there are some people that find this phone attractive, and as I've said, it will sell. But for the rest of the people looking for a bluetooth EVDO phone, a lot will find the A920 a better phone.

This has strayed from the topic, who cares about the price, let that be argued on that thread. I'm talking about the redundancy of this model. There is nothing revolutionary about thi...

monkeyracer, the target audience of this handset is somebody who wants a small multi-media EV-DO/Bluetooth handset (it replaces SPH-A880). The SPH-A920, as I stated earlier, will be discontinued next month.

As for the price, full retail will be between $249 and $279.

Redundant? To a certain extent. Filling a gap is what I would call it. The SPH-A960 will carry over would-be A920 and A880 users into the summer when the A920 replacement is to be released.

Innovative? The design and aesthetics are. When you hold this handset in your hand you'll really get an idea of how compact it really is. Also, the sides are made of soft to the touch plastics, a very nice touch.

You sound like a absolutely terrible wireless rep. .. You're not the only peron on this site who sells Sprint service. Its all about matching what the customer wants, you said that, so why are you whining? Its not redundant at all. It has a small form factor, but its not a wide, thin phone like the a900 and its not a chunky hammerhead shaped phone like the a920. Sorry, but you don't understand marketing at all. The whole point its its form factor. If its feature overlap other models, then that's fine, but if that's the case then the a560, 2300 and pm-125 overlap, the 3100, a840 and pm-225 overlap and practically every other phone ever created.
What it comes down to is, I don't care how good you say you are at selling, people will buy a...

I can't find you in the sprint corporate e-mail system, so obviously you aren't a sprint corporate rep (or use an alias here). I have only a little respect for third party or affiliate reps, since I used to be one. I have to deal with so much third party f-ups it's become extremely annoying.

The a560 is made by samsung, the 2300 by sanyo, and the 125 by lg. These are competitors. It's the same as with cars. You'll find similar models from honda, toyota, etc. This is not redundancy, it's competitiveness. It's redundant if all three were made by the same company. Hence, my argument.

The 3100, although it is redundant to the 8200, sells because it's price point is right, it's less than the 8300, the 8200's are gone, and someone in love wi...

Well, the a960 will ring up for $259, much less than an A900/A920.

price is not an issue when you build value into the product that you have properly qualified the customer for.

If this is the price, then it's a great deal, but where are you getting the info from?

Probably from the Best Buys where it is currently on sale.

Just to answer the when/how much question, my local Best Buy has these in stock. They have them listed at 249.99 - 150 instant new customer or mail in qualified upgrade rebate. So 99.99 and I for one will be getting one. It's not an astounding phone, but it's a 100 Sprint phone with bluetooth. I prefer Sanyo for signal strength, but I'll take another samsung chance.

sorry, but you know it comes down to looks. does everytime. you can have the same phones and if one was black they would take that one, because "it looks cooler." it's not just women, its guys most of the time. kids too. i like they way this one looks.

quit bickering about some lame ****. so what if its the same phone. who cares. so don't sell this one. it'll sell itself anyway. 🤨

(this also isn't a ego contest message board. i don't care how much you sell, yada yada yada. i hope you sell enough to support yourself.)

I said this phone will not sell well, it wasn't even in sprint stores. It's now on the website under the clearance section.
If it were given a better chance maybe, but it didn't sell (otherwise there wouldn't be any for a clearance sale).

Sometimes, I do actually know what I'm talking about.
