Holy crap. I can't beleieve how difficult it was to find what turned out to be a pretty simple answer to this:

This is for people who already have music saved to their computers and want to move it to the phone.

1. Connect your USB cable to the phone and computer.

2. Click "menu", "USB flash drive", "yes" (to "voice calls will be disabled during USB connection. Continue?")

3. Once your phone says that you are connected, go to your computer and double click the "my computer" icon (or select from the programs menu).

4. You should see an icon for the added hardware, whether it is the e or f drive, or even if it looks like your memory stick icon.

5. Click this new drive. If you don't see it, start this process over after fir...

I didn't mean this in a snotty way, but maybe the wording of my original post has been confusing people, so I added this one.

This is not working out for me right now. I bought this phone a couple of day ago... I hook it up to the computer, but I don't understand what you mean by clicking 'menu'. And if you meant the circle in the middle, I clicked it, and had my average menu. Does the USB message pop right up? Or do I have to select it, and where?

Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks, I called sprint today and they kept promting me to buy from the sprint store instead of giving me an answer finally they told me to go out and buy a card reader. The only problem is, I can't get my memory card out of my phone so I'll have to go to sprint tomorrow and get intructions on how to put it in properly. LOL Deee da deee. Anyways, thanks for the directions I can't wait to start tommorrow!

I'm new to all this hi tech stuff and while I was able to follow your directions easily - I can't get the music to play. I put it in the media folder and see when I access through media but the generic Fusic screen comes on and kicks me out. I have gotten the music to play on my computer via USB and the Media windows so I don't think it's the format. HELP ๐Ÿ˜ณ

So the music won't play at all? If I access the music through the tools menu with the phone open, the music stops when I close thw phone. Soooo, I access the music by keeping the phone closed, pressing and holding the center button twice (the first time to turn the key guard off if needed) and click the memory card icon. Then I see a list of songs. The music won't automatically play - you have to click the first one. Is that what you meant? If not, I haven't had the problem you described. As a last resort, once I didn't see the files so I turned my phone off and on after using the USB cable and that did the trick. Are you sure they are formatted correctly?

I press and hold the center button twice and it brings me to the media file which is empty. i can't navigate to the music file from the outside of the phone. The only way I was able to remedy this was to connect to my pc and put my music and dci folders inside the media folder. this si fine for now but is there a better way to get to the music folder from the outside of the phone?

Also is there any way to lock and unlock the buttons from the outside of the phone while its playing music?

I love this phone by why the hell is it so difficult to use?

I have tried this many times and at first my phone just kept restarting on its own. I finally got it to stay on but my Mac doesn't recognize the phone. It's like its not even connected even though the phone says it is. Any advice for a Mac user??? ๐Ÿคจ

Just wondering if you can help me...

I got my FUSIC just the other day, so I haven't looked around that much yet for help and stuff. Trying to figure it out as I go along, but when I try to add my mp3's I get an error. It says something about an I/O device error, and I really don't understand what that means @_@. Any response at all is greatly appreciated =]

I have tried everything found on this site and STILL can NOT connect my PC to my Fusic. I have even tried to download the software from the PCS site (PCS Connection Manager for Phone as Modem/USB Cables) and still no luck.

I plug the USB cable from my phone to my PC, then go to Menu/Tools and and select YES to activate the USB Flash Drive. I hear my computer make a chime and a window pops-up saying it recognizes the USB device. I then go to My Computer and there are NO installed drives. Just my CD drive.

Do I have a faulty phone? I am about ready to take this thing back but don't know if I can get out of the 2-year contract I just signed. Was torn between this phone and Verizon LG Chocolate as I wanted a MP3 capable phone.

If any...

Did you have to convert the .MP3 files to .m4a so the phone could play the files? I ended up downloading dbPowerAmp to convert the files so the phone would play the music.

Just read the first message in this thread. You don't need to buy anything that didn't come with your phone. Just plug the USB cable into the bottom off the phone and then into the computer. I had trouble getting mine to go into the phone at first, thought I was going to break it. The rest is simple. The only thing I have to do is to turn my phone off afterwards and then back on for the new songs to show up.

if you have an sd port (on a printer, or say a digicam that has an sd slot) you can also use that as a thumb drive. that's how i transfer, and it's a lot easier imo.

To add to the OP:

If you can't play the music you loaded on your phone...

It is probably due to the fact that your files are read only.

I loaded a few mp3s under the Music directory. They would show up under Memory Card Manager. However, they would not show up under the Sprint Music Store player.

After disabling the read only option on the offending files, everything works perfectly.

Hope this helps someone...
