LG Fusic / LX-550

Holy crap. I can't beleieve how difficult it was to find what turned out to be a pretty simple answer to this:

This is for people who already have music saved to their computers and want to move it to the phone.

1. Connect your USB cable to the phone and computer.

2. Click "menu", "USB flash drive", "yes" (to "voice calls will be disabled during USB connection. Continue?")

3. Once your phone says that you are connected, go to your computer and double click the "my computer" icon (or select from the programs menu).

4. You should see an icon for the added hardware, whether it is the e or f drive, or even if it looks like your memory stick icon.

5. Click this new drive. If you don't see it, start this process over after first turning your phone and then back on - a little trick I figured out much too late!

6. Now, after double clicking this, you should see the subfolder icons. Then just open whatever folder you have all your music in, and then click and drag them into the media folder.

Once you do that, you can play music with the phone closed, as explained by another thread on this forum.

Whew. A bit wordy, but after I figured this out, I wanted to post COMPLETE details of how I did it because I went through so much unnecessary aggrivation and it seems that I am not the only one who was stumped on this. I hope this helps some of you, and if I goofed on any steps, please correct me.

P.S. You shouldn't need any additional software (i.e. downloadable drivers) which I spent way too much time figuring out!

p.p.s. Don't worry when the computer tells you there is something wrong with the hardware installation. Just cancel the prompts.
