Questions about the specs

I did a phonescoop feature comparison to the MM-A900 and the RAZR v3c and am confused by a few of the specs of the LX-550.

The standby time of the RAZR is listed as 215hrs (9 days) while the standby time of the LX-550 is listead as 8 hrs (0.3 days). Why the big discrepancy?

The RAZR and the A900 are listed as "data capable" while the LX-550 isn't. Doesn't it seem strange that a new Bluetooth phone wouldn't be data capable? It seems to contradict the post on this forum where napfro87 said "Sprint didn't cripple the bluetooth profiles."

Finally, the specs say that it doesn't have MMS or EMS (picture messaging). Is this right? Sprint sells phones that have cameras and EV-DO, but not picture messaging?

I guess I'm just looking ...

You bring up some good questions, but I'm pretty sure the standby time is a typo. There is now way any phone these days has that short of a standby time.

First off, it is very possible that indeed it would be data capable, but since it is a pre-release phone it cannot be confirmed. The other 2 models are current, released to the public handsets, on which it is confirmed. Wait for Sprint's official release to make sure.

That was a typo. 🤭 Sorry! I entered the standby days as hours by mistake. It's been fixed.

I'm pretty sure it does support tethering, I'm just waiting on confirmation from LG.

Sprint's "Picture Messaging" is technically not "MMS". Sprint uses a proprietary technology that works much like MMS...

If this phone is anything like the other EVDO handsets released so far from Sprint, the Picture Mail is delivered directly to the handset now, without having to link to the web to view the picture. So far, this is how the Samsung A900, A920, and A940 and Sanyo 7500 work, all EVDO phones.
