Thousands of contacts = very slow Q?

I have about 7,000 contacts in Outlook on my PC that I have synced with my Motorola Q.

1) Is there a way to tell if all 7,000 have synced?

2) Performance in general seems very slow.

3) When I open Contacts and type the first few letters of a contact it will take 30 to 60 seconds for all the relevant contacts to load. This is incredibly slow.

Would it be faster to load the contacts on a miniSD card? If so any idea how I can do that?

Can Windows Mobile 5.0 just not handle this many contacts? Seems like a serious shortcoming...

Thanks.

You currently can not move contacts to media card... the reason it is slow it has to check every name to see if it matches.

Ive heard this before, if you have 7000 contacts and you complain its slow.... then you should be slapped, HARD !
the Q gets slow with 2000 contacts. ITS A Q PEOPLE, NOT A LAPTOP. Go easy on the little thing, or go delete some of your contacts.
Or go back to your Blackberry.

Thank you for your response John. I wanted to make sure that this is in fact a software/hardware limitation and not something I would be able to fix with a setting.
