mine did the same thing i took it back and got a new one, the new is working perfect

thanks did they give you any trouble or make you prove it shut off?

Was the phone just sitting by itself when it shut down, or were you trying to access your home page?

The same thing kept happening to me the other day when I was trying access some programs. I then realized that if you hold down the "home" key for too long it will access a quick menu. The first option on that quick menu was "power off", and I accidentally kept choosing that option and shutting it down.
