Existing Customer Upgrades...

Am I a complete dolt or are there any other existing Verizon customers out there who still don't have the option to purchase the Motorola Q through the "Upgrade Phone" option in "My Account"?

I can purchase the phone with a new account, but not through my existing account. Leaving town early tomorrow morning and was hoping to return home to find this on my doorstep!

I have tried as well and still no luck for upgrading for existing customers, although the link is valid. It still does not provide the Q as an option. Not on V710 exchange site yet either.

👿 👿 👿

I guess they want the new sales to go out first so $%^&* the existing and make them wait and complain tomorrow to the web group/customer support. I just tried calling the web group but, they're 5AM - 11PM!

I knew they were going to pull something at least initially to bring in the new business then, satisfy existing.

Agreed, but should we think anything different of VW? Existing customers are already locked into a contract so they can wait!!

Well, depending on demand, they know that the new customers were waiting for this and it makes more business sense to get in the new masses. VZW existing users, CSR's can give them a B$ apology and they will wait if supplies run a little short if anything.

That is ridiculous. My contract has been up I could have ordered a new phone a while ago but I waited and now VZW is going to not put this phone out to its loyal customers first this is ridiculous!!! I will be on the phone as soon as they open complaining to customer service which of course will be a waste of my breath cause they could give a crap about us!! If I call and they tell me sorry they are on backorder I might come unglued and go ruff up the first VZW sales rep I see!!!

I tried to log into my account then add a brand new line to my account, then i would just call tomorrow and have them cancel the new account and switch the q to my existing number..... STILL DIDNT WORK!!! the q isn't an option if you try and add a new line, so its just as much a mistake as it is them trying to screw us. I used to sell for them for 3 years, so this isn't my first go round.

Dear Unglued, 😳

Please direct the anger to the managers, not the low paid workers. 🤣 It's a business decision. The front end people are just working there in attempts to pay their bills.

All this talk about upgrading, do you think it would be different for someone like myself that is going to buy it at full retail?

Would you think they would sell it to me, knowing they are going to make all that money off of me?

its not "all that money" to them. they really would rather be selling the phone attached to an account, therefore they make residual. they sell it outright and you may activate it on a sprint account if youre savvy enough to swing that. so they probably wouldnt sell it to you yet.

I didn't have a problem ordering the RAZR over the phone at full retail, and it was a VERY sought after phone at the time it was released. What makes the Q so different?

Yes, Cluv, it will work for you. I did try to fill everything out as a new customer but, then I stopped. Knowing VZW, I'm sure they'd try to pull a fast one (charges) for taking that route.

I tried that too and it processed my new account but I cancelled it at step six (Confirm).

It's ironic how VZW has chosen to word its Q advertisement on its homepage:

"199.99 If you're eligible for your New Every Two credit." Or...not, as the case may be.

How frustrating. I guess I've waited 7 months...what's another week?

I called in and asked about the problems with buying on the website. The story according to "Paul" "Sir I don't know what you are seeing on the website but we aren't going to be selling that phone for weeks" "it is not available to anyone at this time". This was an hour ago.

Are the phone answerers that far out of the loop or is it just a line of BS.

My guess is that they're that far out of the loop. According to the CSA I spoke to today, the Q goes on sale on May 31.

Just for giggles I thought I'd see if VZW had their act together, well, I wasn't disappointed. For all the Macromedia Flash, the experience was more flash in the pan, or can... trash can that is.

Multiple attempts yielded nothing. No Q available as an upgrade, no ability to purchase new or add a line. I got as far as processing... a red scrolling worm, and then NOTHING.

Good night, and Good Luck

Just to be fair to Verizon...

The web site went down for a while this evening (between 2 to 3 AM Eastern), and, by the time it was back up, the Q was available to purchase as an upgrade to existing customers. I've got my order in -- and received an e-mail confirmation!

Good luck.

The Q is definitely on the VZW site for upgrades, but there are two things stopping me from actually hitting the submit button on the order form:

1. It is listed as $299 and does not give you the option of using your New Every Two discount. I thought the phone was going to be $199?
2. When I got to the final ordering page it said that the phone would SHIP in 2 - 5 business days. By the time I get it, the phone will already be out in stores.

Should I order it or wait. I'm confused! I need some input!

Can't sleep.

Jascmil - I just tried it now and it worked too!

TheFew - The price seems to adjust towards the end if you go through your account's phone upgrade option.

To all the others that tried reaching overnight and into this morning...

The outsourced/India have no clue of anything. Call during the day to speak to someone in America. If the person ends sentances with.... "ok" every repeatedly, it's a good hint that you reached "India."

Still no luck. The price goes to $199 if you are starting a new VZW contract, but wouldn't work for me as an existing customer. Hopefully the call center has switched back to the US. I know those Indian call centers are cheap for the companies, but I have never had a good experience with any of them.

What does everyone think of the 2-5 day shipping? Is it worth it to order now or should I just wait til Tuesday?

just ordered the phone from a nice young lady at VZW phone sales. She said it would ship today and I would have it by Friday. Tried to get the advanced device credit ($100 discount) online but would not work. Sales rep put that together no problem.

UofD,
how did you get your $210.00 ($199) price again? I'm a V710er also, just returned my "replacement" phone and will be purchasing my Q on Monday. I want the $199 price.

I was able to order the Q through customer service just now, with an overnight option! 😁 😁

She said she'll text me with the tracking number this afternoon! 😁

So call, they've got it. This is to anyone getting the run-a-round with customer service this morning.

Well.......after and hour or so, the lady I spoke with called me back and left me a message saying she wouldn't be able to order it till the 5th. So I called the VZW store, and asked if they were still getting it on the 5th. He told me they could order it from the warehouse now 😳 , and have it here tomorrow with overnight shipping!! 😁

So I took him up on it, and got a tracking number about mid afternoon! I can't wait!!! 😁 😁 😁
