Does anyone know if the built in GPS can be used with third party navigation software like that from TomTom or Delorm?

Ok I have seen all this silly talk.
The phone will be out in the next 3 weeks.
Customers with 6 or more lines can get this phone first.
Its that simple. As for GPS you need to look at microsoft site.

The question stands, and the surley reply above does not answer it. Windows Mobile 5 can run the navigation software, but is the built in GPS technology of this phone actually sufficient for use with the software(not a question to be answered by microsoft since it is neither thier software nor their hardware)?

Does this phone have a built in GPS locator? The specs page on phonescoop doesn't mention it, and the specs page on CNET says no. If it does, VZW will probably enable their GPS service with the phone when it becomes available.

Sorry, I should have changed the subject of the above post, it has nothing to do with Tom Tom. My question was:

Does this phone have a built in GPS locator? The specs page on phonescoop doesn't mention it, and the specs page on CNET says no. If it does, VZW will probably enable their GPS service with the phone when it becomes available.

Phonescoop does list Type-A GPS as the very first item under FEATURES. I can't find where CNET says that it doesn't have GPS, I only find that there is not a mention of GPS at all on CNET.

I just looked at the phonescoop page again, and now it says type-a, last time I looked, I even did a "find" on that page, and there wasn't anything there. (weird).

if you look at

http://reviews.cnet.com/Motorola_Q/4507-6452_7-31473 ... »

the bottom of the page, it says GPS - None.

So, can I assume type-a GPS will work with VZW's GPS service, and hopfully other types too?

thanks,

Alan
