... talked to their Manager of Media Relations. I asked him to do his company and Motorola's carrier partner a favor and kill the rumors - when?!

BOTTOM LINE: The Q will be released for customers and businesses through Verizon Wireless by the end of April.

Call them yourselves ... 866-BUY-MOTO (ask for Manager of Media Relations).

No word on price, that's up to Verizon, but should be about $499 with 2-year contract.

I tested a beta version of the Q in early March ...

... It's a Treo and Blackberry killer!

Do yourselves a favor and wait for it.

Sounds good, but I really don't know.... just as the price is up to Verizon, which the Moto rep couldn't confirm, so too is the release date, no? I suppose I would feel better if the rep had something more exact than 'by the end of April.' Even better would be someone from Verizon actually having something to say.

... And I completely agree with you.

Verizon is a little skiddish because of the RAZR mishap. Motorola is a little skiddish because of Windows Mobile 5 and the problems so evident with the Treo. Microsoft has released three OS upgrades to solve recurring problems. And Verizon has had to replace Treo devices in record numbers. Good point. Sigh, yeah it sucks to have to wait so long... but better to have a device that works properly than one that's riddled with bugs... At this point, I just hope they all know something we don't (i.e., actual release date)... who knows? They might not. That would really suck.

What about the V710 Mishap???

They are arrogant schmucks who will NEVER learn from their past. If there were ANYONE better, even if your grandmother offered a plan, and reliable service, I'd switch.
Grandma always calls you back!
Very-Zone... never!

The real reason the phone isn't out, IMHO,
is because Motorola got it all working fine, and Verizon said, "Nope, it's gotta be Perfect,
here, Give it to us, We'll VERIZONIZE IT!"

Now that's MUCH BETTER!!
OK Everyone, come and get "Q!!
