Motorola Q

No idea on prices just the release date.

this phone will not be out until early may, trust me. i am the same person that reported the V3M over a month ago (check the V3C threads)

Hmmm. That does look like an update. If I remember correctly, it started saying Q1, changed to Q2, and now says April.

New format and page of course, but same old press release.

This might be a dumb question but this will have the same broadband speed of the Treo 700W on Verizon's network? Correct?

The site has now been updated from the "April" statement to "Shipping Soon". I am not sure if that is a good sign or a bad one.

Weird. There are two almost identical pages from Motorola. In one, the images are a hair smaller, and it says shipping soon. The other has slightly larger pics and still says April.

And then you have this site that still reads "available Q1":

VZW is not going to release this due to some decisions in Mail Transfer software. It's being help till at least April. There is no quantity in stock for the stores yet. They have just ordered them..

On March the 21st 🙄 the "Coming Soon" will appear on VZW.com The Online sales launch of the Q will be on 04-17-06, and the National Launch will be 04-24-2006!!!!! 🤣

For what it is worth, I spoke to a technical person at VZW last night in yet another attempt to correct broadband issues related to my Treo 700. The person I spoke with indicated that the Q would be available the first week in April. In other words, next week.

let's hope so... too many people brought up these rumors and none have come true so far... no offense vzwinsideman, that wasn't really directed toward you... i need a new phone quick, my contract ends early may. errr =/

Overall, VZW customers are satisfied with the RAZR. I am one of them. I love my RAZR.

I'm sorry Britt, but there are many reported problems with the Razr:


1. Issues: The time on the outer display does not update to show the correct time. If the flip is opened and menu or end is pressed, the outside display will update. Once closed, it revert back to not updating.

2. Issues: The ringer cannot be set to Vibe & Ring. The instruction manual does indicate Vibe & Ring is available. This will require a software update for correction. FRU swaps will not resolve this issue.

3. Issues: While in standby mode or while a call is being processed, there's a faint high pitch noise in the ear piece while the backlight is on.

i also love my razr. I have very few complaints about it. EVenthough i love it, i am looking forward to the Q, just because its something new and different and i have a problem of needing to have the latest technology. 😕 ..so yeah, i will be buying it at retail thats y im hoping for a cheaper price. But i guess well see soon enough. I also dont mind it taking long to come out, cause thats also longer time for me to save up some cash. lol, although you all probably dont care, im bored in class and felt like typing. Sorry 😎

I think his point was that because of all the problems with the RAZR Verizon is going to be very cautious about releasing the Q. That is why his conjectured release date is months away...

What the hell is going on?

It could mean nothing. Keep in mind Q1 is over, well, Friday. We know it won't be out then.

But the fact that it doesn't say April and says first half of 06 *is* disturbing. Maybe they're thinking first week of May or last week of April, but some things aren't hammered out? Who knows, we're all just guessing right now.

That big wireless phone conference (CTIA is it?) is next week. I'd say that if we don't hear anything by next Friday regarding an official timeline that the wait could be a lot more than April.

😕 Guys, I wouldn't put too much focus on the "First Half" info ... that's been like that for weeks. The latest "update" from Motorola's website is the link below, and has been swapping between "April 2006" and "Shipping Soon" over the course of the past week or so. I'm thinking mid-April, but who knows.

the v710, e815, and razr all had problems when they came out on the VZW network,

We're hoping history doesn't repeat itself the Q.

I had the v710 and am currently using the e815. Both have pleased me a great deal despite the problems. I'm very likely to purchase the Q, I would just like it if it was problem free when I got it.
