Who does Samsung think they are, Nokia? Hahaha... the newest in the Samsung line of "add a feature, drop a feature" phones. No, really, you ever notice that Samsung releases a gang of phones with only slight differances between each? I'm at T-Mobile, we've had the E105, then the E315, E335, now the T309. Then the t809 came, and we'll get the t709 soon (just with WiFi). C'mon Samsung, calm down!

That's not entirely samsungs fault...
The carriers (especially the major ones) place an order with the manuf. They tell them what they want in the phone, and a general design. The manuf then develop the specific model and the carrier decides if they want it for the price the manuf wants for it.
Usually the manuf has very little leeway in the design or features.
