well, i got everything working perfectly on this phone now except the music transfer, im using the phone as a modem right now for my computer, mms, wap, and iap settings were easy to get just as everyone says, so i dont know why this can be so difficult for me, but there's little else to go to seeking help on this phone just yet so here it goes-

I can put music on my phone just fine but it wont organize itself. I have a bunch of itunes songs saved on the computer, i open up nokia pc suite, click music transfer, and from there i try it, and i get 1000 songs in the unknown artist or album category. If i try the other way by using the phone for data transfer and put the subfolders containing the music in the phone that way, it still wont org...

Hi,

I have similiar trouble with songs that I downloaded from iTunes. I wonder if it has something to do with ID3 tags and iTunes incompatibility. itunes and that whole digital rights management crap might be causing problems. I download from allofmp3.com these days. There's no digital rights mangagement. You get a clean MP3 or WMA file that can be played on anything that plays those file types. Not only that, but most songs are only about 10 cents! Entire albums you can get for less than 2 bucks! Check it out! You won't be dissapointed.

That can't just be it and give up on itunes or windows media player, i dont feel the need to pay for the music i already have and want on the phone is the problem.... the thing is, the phone is supposed to be compatible with playing this file format, and it does, but what on earth would keep it from understanding the specifics/details/properties of the song such as album or artist.... something's goofy about that. I guess we have yet to wait for nokia to actually release the n80 in the US so we can call their cust sppt and have them actually help us lol........

Actually, I think you probably would still have support for the N80 from nokiausa. They are selling the N80 at the Nokia Flagship store in Chicago, so I don't see why they wouldn't be able to help. You might even want to try and call the Chicago store. I've read the guys their are very knowledgeable

---- um, also, i dont know if you went ahead and did it but there was a new version of the pc suite and i updated mine... and its like 6.81 instead of .71.... and now the music software recognizes the artist, album, genre, and categorizes everything on the computer automatically -- so a step in the right direction right????!? However, once you transfer it onto the phone, even from scratch again, it still regresses and proceeds to UNCATEGORIZE all the music...

I bought 2 2GB mini SD cards with hopes to stop having to carry around my ipod and my phone and my camera, i just want this one device, and the nokia n80 IS THE ANSWER TO THIS but it wont be officialy until i figure out this music transfer and organization issue.... the one guy i ta...

Wow, I really feel bad for you. For me, I don't have a lot of music I've loaded on it yet, so I haven't had a chance to be frustrated about it. You've probably already thought about this or maybe already did it, but you can always create folders to get a handle on the tons of files you have. If nothing else, you could at least organize them by music category. It's a bandaid for the problem I know. Good luck.
