Difference between US and EURO version??

Hey, what is the difference between the US version and the Euro version OTHER than one is CDMA2100 and the other is 1900? is there software differences or something that would make me need to have the US version other than the EURO one? One huge thing for me is that the Nokia reps are stating that the US version is only going to have the bluetooth ver. 1.2 and the Euro version has 2.0 bluetooth?? If you look on cellularconcepts it is 2.0! What do i do or need or want more??

I'm not sure there is any difference other than what you mentioned. I don't know if there really even is an official U.S. version out. I know they are selling them at the Nokia Flagship store in Chicago, but I'm guessing they are using the same firmware that England would use. What I mean is, when I scroll through menus and such on my imported N80, I come across words that have an "English spelling" rather than an American spelling. The other thing is when the phone talks to me, it has an English accent. I like that though. It makes the phone seem classier 🤣

I'd say you may as well get an import phone. I bought mine from cellcrew.com. I didn't have any problems with them and the phone came loaded with the latest firmware.

No problem. I'm glad I can help. I know I appreciated it when I was looking to get mine.

I'm not sure which place is better. I think I decided on cellcrew because they were a little cheaper. The one thing I can tell you is the place I ordered from is a small outfit. I believe they've only got a few employees. I tried to thoroughly check them out by checking bbb.org, Yahoo Merchant Reviews, etc. I think you'll be okay with either one as long as you do a bit of research first.

Yeah, I know what you mean about being excited to get this. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. The bragging rights are awesome. It's really cool when you’re at a party and everyone is standing behind you watching Basic Instinct 2 (sucked by the way). R...

ok so how did you get a movie on your phone?? did you have to download a program onto the phone or is the pc suite from nokia enough?

so if you have a favorite dvd, how can you put it on your computer and then get it onto your phone? just wondering, havent done anything like that before so its all new to me. i have researched it and everyone just says that you have to buy and download third party software, which im kindof hesitant about simply because i dont know what i can change or even ruin on the phone that would not be worth it just to play movies on it. Also, is the phone succeptible to viruses as normal computers are when you browse the web and access your emails? do you need to get some sort of virus protection software on the ph...

Yeah, I was new to this whole thing as well. I came from a Samsung I500 I had it for a couple of years. Great PDA phone, but outdated.

As far as getting a movie on the phone, I found a great website that explained the whole process (http://www.tunney.info/index.php/?p=289). It worked perfectly. The instructions were clear and concise. You will need to download two programs. One is called smartmovie. You can get this program from a couple of websites. I personally like handango.com. You can first download the trial version and then buy it after you try it out. I think it's about $24. This program downloads to your desktop and your phone. The program optimizes the movie for play back on your phone. It is also the program that ...

hhmmm, would it be worth it to just not get any virus protection on the phone for the EXTREMELY good reasons you just stated and just pay nokia or whatever it takes to reflash your phone and start over from scratch? I don't even know if that would get rid of the virus or not.... again, phone on the internet stuff is all completely new and i have a lot to learn... thanks again for all the help
