Hey.
I was wondering a few things.
1) When will this phone come out in the States (i've heard for Cingular, but I'm not sure because of the previous thread in here)
2) If anyone has a used one, can I get a good price?
3) What do you guys think of this phone. Is it worth the 500+ for a step up from the Samsung P207?

Thanks a lot,
Matt

EDIT

I just got off the phone with the Nokia Flagship store in Chicago (on Michigan Ave.)

The phone is coming into the US within the next week. No carrier will have it, however, you can buy it from only 2 places (the US version that is) with a warranty:
1. The Nokia Flagship Store in Chicago (is there one in New York as well?)
2. Online at Nokia.com

There is a huge waiting list at the store (I just got on it :w00t: ) with almost 100 people. The phone retails for 599.99, and you have to pick it up yourself (although they will hold it for you for 48 hrs.) when it comes in.

This phone is gonna be huge, and to those of you that already have it... I hope you're enjoying it.
Cheers,
Matt

I would get in line IF the phone had 2 things:

1. UMTS at 850
2. A2DP

They originally said they that the N80 was going to have A2DP, then they backed out. If they put out a firmware update, then I'm all over it.

EDIT:

I meant to say WCDMA at 850, not UMTS.

WCDMA and UMTS are the same thing, so you didnt screw up. I am thinking about going after the HTC TyTn or another name its known by. I am not a big fan of Windows Mobile, but it has absolutely everything in it that I am looking for at the moment.

The Wayfinder navigation system also said that nokia needs to get a firmware update before it can work with their GPS software too... But they planned on it and posted that they are standing by for when nokia gets the n80 firmware upgrade. Im not necessarily relying upon it, but i already have the n80, have no complaints, except i cant get my phone to organize the music folder, if you want to see how and why you can look at the thread for it in this n80 forum page... The second the n80 has a firmware upgrade i am ALLLLL OVVVEERR it, but as far as the phone quality, it is SPECTACULAR. my review for it will be on this site within the next week or so, and just a heads up i give it a 4.5 out of 5 i guess.

I originally wanted a Windows Mobile...

I have installed Tomtom Navigator 6 on my N80.
It works really nicely.
Is Wayfinder better then Tomtom?

Not at all.
The program itself is 40 megabyte on the memory card. Then you can get maps for the country or area you need. The whole US map needs a 1 GB card. Europe is about the same size as well. You will also need a Bluetooth GPS receiver which cost $100. You can get that from buygpsnow.com.

You can download everything from here.

That is great-Wayfinder requires a good amt of gprs downloading while in use. Which files are which on that link? Are those files for use only with N80 or will it work with other OS?
