Dear smart person... HELP!

Nokia e61 with Blackberry connect software.
T-mobile service.

I can get on the internet, but email doesn't work.
When I go to compose an email from the Blackberry application there is no provision to "Send" the email..

Its like it has never even heard of email.

Ideas?

I got my Blackberry Connect to work.
Had to send Service books from T-mobile, then "register" the thing on the network from the handheld, then tell T-mobile which device I was using from their website.

Then the next morning it stopped working again.
Keys to BB / T-mobile
1) Online at t-mobile.com you have to tell it you are changing devices.
2) before you do that get the BB software installed and get the internet working.
3) on the handheld device you have to find a setting for "register device" or something like that.
4) You may have to put the IMEI from the box into the t-mobile.com website.
5) Repeat all of the steps above many times.

e61 Issues:
1) Where is the USB? I have one charger, and one funky connector to the la...

I actually just sold the e61 for $285 that I bought 4 days ago for $400.
I went back to a new Blackberry. Just couldn't deal with the lack of trackwheel and lack of USB cable for charging and data.

BUT... the T-Mobile plan worked flawlessly. Superfast internet and I installed the Blackberry Connect software from Nokia and it worked perfectly too. Emails were superfast.

But it also doesn't have a native .pdf viewer, can probably get one free online.

Great phone, just didn't work for me.

Were you able to send and receive emails while you were on the phone when using the E61 on T-Mobile?

Any Mac users out there using this phone?

Thanks!
I want to purchase but not if it will be a sync nightmare.
The reason i want a PDA is for syncing calendar and contacts.

I tried an E61 for a short time and with a with small amount of work (there's a file that needs to be added on your Mac - http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story= 20060511162644120) it will sync properly. Actually, they use the syncmp standard, which is also supported by OSX so its just a question of getting OSX to recognize the E61. It actually gets along quite well with OSX once you get this working. Its a great phone with one exception (which I previously posted on this forum) that the IMAP implementation leaves much to be desired. Its poor enough that I returned the phone, but if you don't use IMAP it is probably a great phone.

Hi, I know this is a long time after your post but I just stumbled upon it. I am a Mac user and have an E61

I am selling the E61 because I am not happy with it's interoperability with my Mac

In particular, when I synced it with my Mac a while ago, it truncated my notes entries in Address Book, and I lost a lot of information I really wanted to keep

If you did buy the phone I'd be very interested in how you got on with it

I have had a Nok E61 for 2 weeks and have yet to get T-mobile to get me connected as far as the internet capability. The phone works great, just no internet or Email. They set me up with BB Connect, and that did not work, so they said I needed T-Mobile Internet, still no cigar! I would GREATLY appreciate it if someone that has experience with the specific connectivity settings could lend me a hand.

Thanks!!!

Hey BB no mo, THANKS!!! I found a few settings that were off and now we are cooking with gas. I was only able to get the internet working, so far. I am impressed with the functionality. I have the T-mo internet plan and T-mail. I am working on getting my gmail functional also.

Thanks Again!!!

Hey what exactly did you have to do to get the email set up with the Nokia. I am currently in Germany and will be in the US in Jan. I plan to use t-mob as my mobile service provider. Please reply at DeacGrant@instantemail.t-mobile.de, thanks...

glad that everything is working for you....

looks like i will take plunge to e61 with tmobile...

couple of more questions regarding plans..
u said u have..
internet plan and T-mail

not clear...what kind of data service you have...

these are the two choices;
accrding to tmobile webpage.

1)T-Mobile Total Internet(unlimited) $29.99 per month

2)BlackBerry Internet Service Plan (blackberry unlimited)$19.99 per month

(1) is for the non blackberry device pda or smart ph device...i.e. MDA

(2) is for the all blackberry devices..with email and web surfing.

i am assuming that you are using tmobile in the United States.

my question is will E61 work with blackberry plan only....both email and web surfing as w...

BB no mo, tmail is the email acount that comes with the sidekick. Tmail is for the sidekick only and doesnt carry over to other data devices at T-Mobile.

You should be able to use the BB data plan with the Nokia E61 with no problem from my understanding. Yet, you're correct the total internet add on plan is for the MDA, Dash, etc and not for BB devices or Devices that support BB connect.

Im not sure if the other user still has his sidekick data plan that he/she is trying to use with the E61 or if he/she is trying to use the unlimited tzones plan with the E61--neither of which are supposed to work with BB data devices, MDA, etc according to T-Mobile data support.

I have been messing with this phone for over a week- on the T-Mobile network. Make sure that when you go to tools>settings>connection that you scroll sideways through the setup menu to hit all of the tabs at the top of the screen- makes it much easier to ensure you have filled in all of the blanks. Also- call T-Mob cust service and have them t-message you the settings for T-Mobile VPN. Install it and enter that as your access point. I didn't have any problems getting on the web, but email is a nightmare. I couldn't get Roadsync or Mail For Exchange to work- kept locking up the phone.
