No edge?!? Only 24 chords and 12mb?! What is this 2004? They always skip something on a phone.
Other than this it seems like a great phone, definately what the original razr should have been from the start to make it worth the money other than a older technology phone with an expensive case.

Eventhough, I posted that a few months ago, some people have forgotten about that Moto EDGE crap. So, thats why they are being reminded, since they will continue to ask "Why doesn't this phone have EDGE?"

So then, briefly, for the less enlightened, please tell us, again, why no EDGE?

And, how does this new Razr compare to the one Verizon is about to launch? Are they the same or is the Verizon model based on the old one? (Which wouldn't be a surprise AT ALL.) 😈

The Verizon one is better in some aspects and not as good in others. It all depends on what you are looking for.

Can you be more specific about what's different. I'm a bit unhappy with Verizon right now and may switch to T-Mobile. Thanks!

The V3c will have faster data transfer, but limited memory. The V3i will have slower data transfer rate, but have data higher data storage capability thanks to the transflash card and the mp3 cabality. The V3i is also a quadband phone that can be used internationally with other SIM Cards. Apparently the talk time and standby listed are better by 2 times for the V3i. The V3i will have e-mail client, but the V3c doesn't. Although it does say that the V3c is data capable and the V3i is not. The V3c will have GPS location capability where as the V3i doesn't (that fairly normal for GSM phones not to have GPS locaters). The V3i will have pc sync capability, but the V3c doesn't. If your into ring profiles (setting up profiles for easy selec...

Well, I understand that Motorola doesn't want to release edge right now but it's still absurd for this phone not to have it. Verizon's phone will basically be the same thing except no memory card (STUPID!!!)

It's not that Moto does not want to release phones with EDGE. They had a chop problem and cannot.

EDGE was originally planned for this phone, but:

...as for 24-chord ringtones, who cares if you can just use an MP3 (with infinite chords)?

...and does 12 MB of internal memory matter if you can just pop in a 512 MB memory card?

Amen to that. Not to mention that 1gig MicroSD cards should not be too far off. EDGE is nice and all, but if you don't tether, I am not really sure of the benefits. I have EDGE on my v635 and wap pages loads at the same speed at the RAZR V3. *shrug*

of course they are holding back because the hsdpa phone will be launching in the middle of next year, which is a razr design too...

didn't you notice all the moto's are coming gprs now??? there was a report somewhere.. can't remember where, that moto can't get a stable edge connection, so they quietly removed it from all the newer models...
