April 27?
Wikipedia says that Motorola announced it would be released by cingular on the 27th. Anyone can confirm this? I really need a phone this week and it would be cool if it came out on the 27th.

I believe it was originally end of Feb, then I heard end of March, then I heard end of April. So, I'd give it about a 50/50 chance of either April 27, or being pushed back to end of May!
I'd just buy it already and if need be you can flash to the Cingular flex (dont know why you'd want to though) 🙂

I would wait to buy this phone through Cingular, i just think it makes good sense to be able to purchase the insurance on such a nice phone, i bought a non branded phone before then just had one hell of a time replacing it, but just take your chance if you want it now.

The V3i is currently on the "DO NOT ENROLL" insurance list... meaning it can't be insured. Just buy it from whereever.

wikipedia.com has been updates and now says cingular will begin selling the v3i in late april to mid may. it had previously stated an april 27th release date.
