Motorola RAZR V3i / V3t / V3e / V3r
Available 4th Quarter????
I had heard that Cingular was not going to release this phone until well into the first quarter of 2006. How is it that it is listed as being available in the 4th quarter of 2005? Does someone know something that I don't know?

For Cingular, that is correct, but the last I heard is that it will be launched globally (as in somewhere on the planet) by the end of this year.

It might just be coming sooner to Cingular.. Cingular seems to have dropped the price for the Black Razor to 99.99 and in addition offering a USD 50 debit card (mail in rebate)..

T-mobile will not get this phone, Cingular has it!! They might get it down the road like they did with the original RAZR..

but u can still buy it and have t-mobil unlock it for u so u can use it with them. thats what im gonna do. buy the phone without the plan(if that info was correct) and then ill call t-mobil and tell them i have a phone that i want unlocked and thell give me a code to unlock it and give me instructions on how to set up the phone with the service and all that good stuff.

If I'm wrong I hope someone corrects me, but I'm pretty sure that it gets locked at the factory. When it gets released you can get it from wirelessimports.com or ebay for a slightly higher price, but it won't be linked to any carrier yet. I don't think T-mobile can unlock phones from another carrier once its already been locked.

aw but they do. i just read the artical on it. it may take up to 2 days to get it but u can get an unlock code from tmobile.(only one per mobile # per account)

Under normal circumstances I would agree with 120%. But I got some weird info on Friday, that suggested T-Mobile may get it sooner rather than later. So, basically I need your help to find out the truth in it all. Where did you get the info that it would be a Cingular exclusive like the V3? Or are you guessing like the rest of us?

Well that doesn't really matter for me at least because this phone is really really expensive. Until it comes out with a us carrier like cingular this phone aint getting any cheaper.

The price typically drops preciptuously in the following weeks after release. I simply provided the link for those who complained Motorola lies about release dates, When they say Q4 2005, it doesn't necessarily mean the US. Meanwhile, the phone is in release in Europe.

I just called motorola and they said they will be releasing the release date of the v3i in cingular in about a week. No other info though. I hope it is soon.

Other than the fact that Radio Shack is going to carry Cingular as of January 1, 2006 and is not scheduled to receive their first shipment until sometime in March - and this is directly from a store manager and confirmed by a district manager.

the phone will launch in march, mainly because the black razr exclusive runs out may 1. that gives them overlap on exclusives, and will let them work out any bugs that might pop up, and also allow for a delayed release (which is the norm as of late).
