******THE REAL REASON THE T809 WAS DROPPED!!!**********

by BiGg RiE    Oct 16, 2006, 3:00 PM

I think this phone was discontinued because You can flash the t809 to the original version of the phone and use it the way it was ment to be used. I think tmobile got wind of people flashing there t809's to the d820 and getting alot of funtionality that the t809 lacked for free and they didn't like it Eh? .

Here's a short list of the benifits of flashing to the D820 which is the real version of the t809:

* Mp3 as ringtone support (no renaming needed)
* No Ascending ringer
* Vibrate and ring simultaneously
* Email client
* Change soft key functions
* Install non-signed java applications ie; opera mini, google maps etc.
* Unlock the phone (use on any carrier)

As you can see there are many benifits that address most of the issues you guys have. also, the t809/d820 hase 64MB of internal flash memory and the t629 only has like 30, it makes a differece when u want to assign caller id ringers to ur contacts.
If I get some replies to this message i'll provide the info needed to get ur phones flashed.
